BONNET NEVE INTRODUCES SKYVIEW AT COP21

Bonnet Névé participated in the twenty-first Conference of Parties on climate change organized by the UN from 30 November to 12 December at the Parc des Expositions in Le Bourget (Paris). The company presented SkyView, the chilled vertical cabinet combining design and respect for the environment.

The aim of the summit is to achieve, for the first time in over 20 years of mediation on the part of the United Nations, a binding and universal agreement on climate that is accepted by all countries. The great expectations these 13 days of debate resulted in a programme to reduce CO₂ emissions by limiting the increase in global temperature to a maximum of 2° Centigrade by 2020. COP21 is one of the largest international conferences, with approximately 50,000 participants, including 25,000 delegates from 195 countries, in addition to international organizations and NGOs, UN Agencies and representatives of civil society and industry.

Specifically, Christian Le Gousse, General Manager of Epta France was invited by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development and by the Institut Français du Design (IFD) to take part in the debate organized within the Gallery of Solutions on 4 December, with a speech on “Products and services for a better life”. The round table was an opportunity to illustrate the strong points of SkyView, the chilled vertical cabinet that won the prestigious Janus de l’Industrie in 2014 with a special mention for its eco-design, as an example of a concrete solution for reducing environmental impact within the sphere of commercial refrigeration.

Christian Le Gousse, General Manager of Epta France, interviewed by Marie Sargueil, President of IFD, comments: “We believe that growth is intrinsically connected to innovation. SkyView is a symbol of our commitment to creating and manufacturing systems that are able to combine style, features, ergonomics and durability. The solution is the perfect response to the principle of eco-design, the heart of the project: with SkyView, we have actually managed to reduce water consumption in the production phase by 60%, and we have achieved energy savings of 57% compared to previous models of open refrigerator cabinets with night curtains.” He continues: “The new challenge we are facing is investing in green refrigerants such as CO₂ and propane, to ensure sustainable development that is in line with the founding principles of COP21.”
